§ Mr. Brayasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the anticipated completion date for the section of the Bury Easterly bypass linking with the Rawtenstall bypass at Edenfield.
§ Mr. SpeedConstruction of the southern section of the M66 between the M62 and the A58 at Bury is well under way and is expected to be open to traffic in the spring of 1975. Subject to the satisfactory completion of the outstanding statutory procedures and the 153W availability of funds, construction of the northern section between the A58 and the Edenfield-Rawtenstall bypass could start in autumn this year for completion in late 1976. The programme is, however, currently under review in the light of the cuts in expenditure for 1974–75 announced on 17th December 1973.
