HC Deb 29 April 1974 vol 872 c372W
Miss Quennell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will promote a publicity campaign to warn the public of the danger of rabies, and the possible consequences of smuggling animals into the United Kingdom.

Mr. Moyle

Information about our rabies import controls is readily available to potential animal importers to this country. We intend to widen the scope of our publicity once the Rabies Bill becomes an Act so that the general public will understand the need for the extended controls and the increased penalties for animal smuggling that are proposed.
