HC Deb 29 April 1974 vol 872 cc354-5W
Mr. Tuck

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps designed to alleviate the position of the homeless.

Mr. Freeson

I have already introduced the Housing Bill, announced legislation on security for furnished tenants and published Circular 70/74. All these will help the position of the homeless in the context of the Government's developing housing policies. I am considering, with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services, what more may need to be done to prevent homelessness and to improve the prospects of those who are homeless.
