asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will circularise local authorities as a matter of urgency requesting them to procure the maximum salvage of waste paper possible in view of the lowness of stocks, which is endangering the production of British paper mills.

Mr. Denis Howell

This is an important matter which the Government are reviewing. In the meantime I am sure that local authorities are aware of industry's needs for additional supplies.
