HC Deb 18 July 1973 vol 860 cc162-3W
Mr. Albert Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what general directions he has given to the National Coal Board to exploit known coal reserves, in view of the world energy crisis which is likely to cause industrial problems.

Mr. Emery

None. The Department is discussing long-term coal output with the National Coal Board. The Government consider that talk of an energy crisis frequently overlooks new discoveries and sources of energy.
