HL Deb 02 July 1973 vol 344 cc142-3WA
THE EARL OF LAUDERDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many houses at South Witham are in the ownership of the Central Government and the local authority respectively; how many in either category were built to house R.A.F. personnel serving at Cottesmore, and how many in each category are now housing personnel from South Luffenham and Cottesmore respectively.

LORD CARRINGTON

The only houses owned by the Central Government at South Witham are 267 airmen's married quarters. These were originally built for R.A.F. Cottesmore personnel but are now occupied almost exclusively by families from R.A.F. North Luffenham. Only one is still occupied by an airman serving at R.A.F. Cottesmore.

Numbers of council houses in a specific area are a matter for the local authority concerned, but I am not aware that any in the South Witham area are occupied by Service personnel.
