asked Her Majesty's Government:

What mileage allowance is paid to R.A.F. personnel serving at Cottesmore and South Luffenham respectively who use their own car to reach the airfield at which they serve.

LORD CARRINGTON

Married R.A.F. personnel travelling in private cars of over 150 c.c. capacity between their homes and place of duty are paid a mileage allowance of 1.7p per mile, less a deduction of 50p per week as a personal contribution towards the cost of travel. For those personnel who live in private accommodation the mileage allowance is restricted to a maximum of £3 per week after deduction of the personal contribution.
