§ Miss Boothroydasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is aware of the distance involved for some residents in Brimingham postal district 43 who have to deal with the office at Soho Road, Handsworth ; and whether he will make provision for benefits relating to these residents to be dealt with by the nearest local office at High Street, West Bromwich.
§ Mr. DeanFuture plans for the area covered by Birmingham postal district 43 will provide for residents of that part of the area which lies within the Sandwell Metropolitan District to be dealt with by the West Bromwich local office, and for those who reside elsewhere in the area to be dealt with by a new office in Walsall. The changeover will be effected when suitable premises are available.
