asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he proposes taking to give effect to the proposals made by Lord Wheatley in his report on the recent Ibrox football disaster; and if he will make a statement.

As already announced the Government have accepted in principle the recommendations in Lord Wheatley's Report on Crowd Safety at Sports Grounds, and consultation with interested parties will be initiated soon with a view to the introduction of legislation.
