HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c385W
70. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many miles of the former Hull-Barnsley railway line will be used for the route of the new motorway, M62, towards Hull; and whether he will consider using other disused railway lines in East Yorkshire for conversion into roads in a similar fashion.

Mr. Graham Page

Nearly two miles near Gilberdyke and Newport. Opportunity will be taken to use other disused railway lines where this provides the best solution of planned road requirements.
