HC Deb 04 February 1972 vol 830 cc222-3W
Mr. Ifor Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many claims he has received for constant attendance allowance from Wales in the last six months; and how many have been granted.

Mr. Dean

Up to 25th January there were about 11,000 claimants for the new attendance allowance in Wales, including about 9,000 who claimed in the previous six months. Of these, 4,250 altogether, including 4,100 in the last six months, were initially found to satisfy the medical conditions. Separate figures are not available relating to those who were found to satisfy the conditions following an application for review.
