asked the Secretary of Slate for Wales what estimate he has made of the total cost to the Exchequer of the slum clearance subsidy in Wales, based upon the known intentions of local authorities' slum clearance programmes in 1971–72.

The slum clearance subsidy will be a continuing subsidy and it is not possible to estimate the total cost to the Exchequer.
