HC Deb 04 August 1971 vol 822 c348W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a further initiative at the United Nations to seek an increase in the level of international contributions for aid for East Pakistani refugees in India in view of the discrepancy between the amount so far collected internationally and the Indian Government's estimate of the cost of their maintenance.

Mr. Anthony Royle

I understand that the Secretary General of the United Nations and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees are following up the Secretary General's public appeal in the ways they consider likely to be most effective to raise further funds.
