§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will introduce legislation to provide that no child of compulsory school age shall enter any amusement arcade unless accompanied by an adult;
(2) if he will introduce legislation to provide that if an owner of an amusement arcade allows any person of compulsory school age to enter his premises unaccompanied by a parent or guardian he shall be liable to conviction;
(3) if he will seek powers to give authority to local authorities to make byelaws to regulate the conditions under which amusement arcades are established and conducted within their administrative areas, including provision as to the hours during which amusement arcades are open to the public, and the number and types of machines provided.
§ Mr. CarlisleMy right hon. Friend is not satisfied on his present information that there is a case for such legislation.
