HC Deb 26 November 1970 vol 807 cc189-90W
Mr. Gwynoro Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent representations have been made to him by the farming fraternity on the effects of British Standard Time; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Carlisle

During the past six months the Home Office has received five letters from individual farmers or horticulturists and five from farmers' associations all asking for a reversion to Greenwich Mean Time during the winter months. Replies have stated that the difficulties experienced by farmers will no doubt be taken into consideration when Parliament decides whether British Standard Time should be retained.
