HC Deb 25 November 1970 vol 807 cc158-9W
Mr. John Page

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will take steps to prevent bona fide visitors to this country from being solicited by by touts as potential customers for abortion clinics when they pass through airports.

Mr. Noble

I understand that this practice is centred almost entirely on Heathrow and that the British Airports Authority, which is responsible for policing, is doing all it reasonably can to stop these reprehensible activities. The authority's bye-laws in effect prohibit touting for any purpose, and 272 convictions for this class of offence have been recorded so far this year.
