HC Deb 25 November 1970 vol 807 c159W
130. Sir G. Nabarro

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether, having regard to the refusal of planning consent for a nuclear power station at Stourport-on-Severn, alongside existing A and B coal-fired stations, thus removing risks of radio-active materials polluting the River Severn, he will now state his policy on the siting of nuclear power stations on inland waterways.

Mr. Ridley

It is for the Generating Board to propose sites, and each application is considered on its merits. Any possible contamination of a waterway would be taken into account.
