§ Mr. Peter ThomasI assume the hon. Member has in mind the scheme being prepared jointly by the Department of the Environment and the Welsh Office to provide a southern by-pass of Chester. It is hoped that proposals, in the form of draft Orders, will be published early next year. Subject to completion of the statutory procedures and the availability of funds, work on the scheme, which is estimated to cost approximately £6 million, should begin about the middle of 1973.
