§ Mr. William Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to give enforcement authorities under the Consumer Protection Act, 1961, power to proceed directly against a manufacturer who is at fault instead of proceeding against the retailer and to require them to supply annual reports to him on their enforcement activities.
§ Mr. SharplesA Bill was introduced in another place on 27th October to insert in the Consumer Protection Act, 1961, "by-passing" provisions of the kind which the hon. Member has in mind.
