§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in view of the growing number of private security firms establishing themselves, arming their staffs with offensive weapons, and using their vehicles to break the law by parking on double and treble yellow banned areas, if he will seek powers to ensure that these firms do not employ criminals who may assist in the large number of crimes which are committed in which these firms and their staffs are involved.
§ Mr. SharplesMy right hon. Friend does not accept the premises in this Question; and does not consider that legislation for the control of private security organisations would be justified at present.
