Q8. Mr. Thorpe

asked the Prime Minister whether he will propose to the leaders of the five Commonwealth Governments with whom he will hold defence talks next year that their discussions should be widened to include the defence of the Indian Ocean and that other Commonwealth Governments concerned should be invited to attend.

The forthcoming Defence Talks with the other four Commonwealth Governments will be related specifically to the defence of Malaysia and Singapore.
