London Bus and Underground Fares

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that the Greater London Council's decision to raise bus and Underground fares it not in conformity to the Government's policy on these matters, he will refer it to the National Board for Prices and Incomes.

Mr. Mulley:

My right hon. Friend the First Secretary and I have asked the National Board for Prices and Incomes to examine and report on the proposed general level and structure of fares on services operated by the London Transport Executive.
