HC Deb 29 May 1970 vol 801 c599W
Mr. Bessell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action has been taken by Her Majesty's representative in the case of the captain of the England World Cup team in Bogota.

Mr. M. Stewart:

Prior to Mr. Moore's release on 28th May Her Majesty's Embassy in Bogota took all appropriate steps to help him, and in particular to try to secure a speedy decision. It helped to arrange expert legal counsel. It was in continuing touch with the Colombian authorities, as well as the representatives of the Football Association in Bogota and Mr. Moore himself.
