HC Deb 29 May 1970 vol 801 cc599-600W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what communications he has received from Fiji about the forthcoming French nuclear test explosion in the Pacific; and if he will make a statement about Her Majesty's Government policy.

Mr. Luard:

No such communications have been received. We are following closely the French nuclear tests in the Pacific, bearing in mind the well-being of the territories there for which we are responsible. The French Government have said that, as on previous occasions, they will be taking all possible precautions to avoid any danger to health resulting from the tests.
