asked the Minister of Transport what progress has now been made towards the construction of the South Coast Motorway M27 between Portsmouth and Southampton.

Mr. Bob Brown:

The inspector's report following the public inquiry into the M27 proposals is still under consideration. My right hon. Friend will announce his decision as soon as possible.
