HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 c337W
Mr. Onslow

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he takes, when designating an airport under Section 8 of the Civil Aviation Act, 1969, to notify local authorities in the area; and what guidance he issues to the airport management concerning the facilities they should provide for consultation.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts:

Local authorities concerned are consulted before an aerodrome is designated. Notification that an Order has been made is given by a Press notice. The Aerodrome Owners Association and the Joint Airports Committee of Local Authorities—and individual aerodrome owners, on request—have been given general guidance and provided with information about existing Consultative Committees.
