HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c211W
63. Mr. Tinn

asked die Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take action to exempt from prescription charges all children undergoing full-time education at school or college.

Dr. John Dunwoody:

No. Any who would suffer hardship and are 16 or over can apply for exemption. Those aged 15 are dependants, and any claim for them should be made by the head of the family. Where complete exemption cannot be claimed the prepayment certificate is available for those who need frequent prescriptions, at an average cost of less than Is. 3d. a week.
