§ 27. Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will call a round table conference of relevant voluntary and official organisations to discuss the problems of child poverty and extension of family services in social work.
§ Mr. Ennals:My right hon. Friend does not think a round table conference is what we need at this stage. As regards the consideration of the financial problems, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave earlier today to the Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Fife, West (Mr. William Hamilton). As to family services, their promotion and development is the main concern of the Local Authority Social Services Bill now before Parliament.
