HC Deb 07 May 1970 vol 801 c165W
58. Mr. Scott-Hopkins

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many primary schools in Derbyshire were built before 1900; if he will increase the allocation of funds for major works of rebuilding these schools; and if he will make a statement.

Miss Bacon:

There are 279 primary schools in Derbyshire whose main buildings date from 1902 or earlier. Twenty-four primary improvement projects have been included in Derbyshire's major building programme from 1965 to 1972 at a cost of £1.5 million.
