asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in view of the large increase in the quantities of litter left about in recent years, he will circularise the education authorities advising them to intensify their attempts to make children litter-conscious.

Miss Bacon:

No. I agree about the importance of this but I have no reason to suppose that local education authorities are not doing what they can to support the valuable work being done in the schools by the Keep Britain Tidy Group.
