Mr. Robert Cooke

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will list the planning authorities outside the Greater London area which have been freed from the obligation to notify him of application for listed building consent relating to alterations.

Mr. Greenwood:

Buckinghamshire, Essex, Lincolnshire—Parts of Kesteven, Surrey and West Sussex. Applications from a number of other authorities are under discussion with them and advice is being given on the steps to be taken to enable exemption to be given.

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many requests since 1st January, 1969 he has had from local authorities in England and Wales for assistance from the Land Fund towards the acquisition of listed buildings of historic and architectural interest; and how much has been made available in respect of how many buildings.

None. £18,571 was approved in 1968–69 in respect of four grants applied for before 1st January, 1969.
