§ Mr. Robert Cookeasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what consideration is being given to a revision of the Circular 100 procedure; and, in particular, what plans he has for bringing Crown property in which there is a Crown interest within the scope of Part V of the Town and Country Planning Act of 1968, and similarly buildings which are in ecclesiastical use.
§ Mr. Greenwood:Considerable progress has been made with a review of Circular 100 procedure, which covers questions concerning listed buildings in which there is a Crown interest. I have no plans for bringing such buildings under formal preservation control. The exclusion from this control of ecclesiastical buildings, used for ecclesiastical purposes, was renewed by Section 41(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1968. I do not propose to legislate for its repeal, since it forms part of an 149W arrangement reached with the Church of England, of the latter's instance, in 1913.
