HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c97W
Mr. Molloy

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity (1) what reports she has received from the conciliation officer of her Department regarding the industrial dispute at Duvalls of Perivale, Middlesex;

(2) what steps she intends to take to resolve the six-weeks old industrial dispute at Duvalls of Perivale, Middlesex, arising from the refusal of the company to acknowledge trade union representation.

Mr. Harold Walker:

Forty employees of Duvall Ltd. went on official strike on 19th March over the company's refusal to recognise their union. I understand that the rest of the company's 500 employees are still working. My officers have had separate discussions with the company and the union but were unable to find a basis for joint talks. My officers are keeping in touch with the parties and will give any further help they can.
