§ 81. Mr. Laneasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government by how much the sale of council houses has dropped in Greater London, the West Midlands, South-East Lancashire and Merseyside, respectively, since restrictions on the sale of council houses were imposed in July, 1968.
§ Mr. FreesonComparing the 12 months immediately following the intro-336W duction of the restrictions with the previous 12 months the number of houses sold in Greater London rose by 1,343, in the West Midlands by 915, in South-East Lancashire by 177, and in Merseyside by 981. This rise includes the sale—outside the annual quota—of houses for which a firm price had been offered and accepted before the restrictions were imposed. The numbers also include houses sold where my right hon. Friend's consent was not required.
