asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will give details of expenditure on improvement grants in total and per head of population in England and Wales, respectively, from 1964 to 1969.

The above figures relate to the total grants to private owners and housing associations by local authorities during this period. They relate to a total of 454,100 dwellings. In addition 189,570 dwellings owned by local authorities were improved with the aid of Government contributions during the same period.
