HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc70-1W
Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom houses, flats or bungalows have been built by the Carlisle City Council in each year since 1965; and what projections of need for family houses have been made for the future.

Mr. Greenwood

The numbers of dwellings completed for the authority were:—

Number of bedrooms
Year 1 2 3 4 or more Total dwellings
1965 120 120 71 311
1966 93 50 10 153
1967 29 93 69 191
1968 61 63 56 180
1969 6 6
The correct balance of family and smaller dwellings for future needs is one factor which each housing authority must consider when determining its current building programme. I have made no projections for Carlisle.
