asked the Minister of Technology how many jobs have been provided to date in Wales by the establishment of advance factories; and what percentage of jobs provided this represents.

Mr. Carmichael

Of the 39 completed Ministry of Technology advance factories in Wales, 35 have been allocated and are in production. Employment at present provided in these factories totals about 3,400 (2,200 men; 1,200 women). Some of the factories still have to recruit all the labour they will require. As to the second part of the Question, I will attempt to provide the information if the hon. Member will let me know in more detail what he has in mind.
