§ 73. Mr. David Steelasked the Minister of Technology whether he will make a statement about the conclusions of the feasibility study on Joint Meter Reading carried out by the Gas and Electricity Councils.
Mr. Alan WilliamsThe studies show that at best savings from joint meter reading would be marginal. After discussion with representatives of the two industries we have accepted this conclusion. We are satisfied that it would not be profitable to pursue further studies of the subject, which would divert attention from more important work.
