HC Deb 05 March 1970 vol 797 c150W
72. Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made in his proposals for a review of the law of homicide, following the abolition of the death penalty for murder.

Mr. Callaghan

I have asked the Criminal Law Revision Committee to review the law relating to, and the penalties for, offences against the person, including homicide, in the light of, and subject to, the recent decision of Parliament to make permanent the statutory provision abolishing the death penalty for murder.
