HC Deb 08 July 1970 vol 803 c52W
45. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received concerning the proposed changeover in the use of fuel at the Longannet Power Sation in Fife, from coal to oil, and what reply he has made.

Mr. Younger

The only representations my right hon. Friend has received have been from the hon. Member for West Fife and from the Scottish area of the National Union of Mineworkers. My right hon. Friend has written to the hon. Member stating that he has received no proposals for the use of oil instead of coal at Longannet Power Station. He will send the hon. Member a copy of his reply to the N.U.M.
