HC Deb 08 July 1970 vol 803 c49W
37. Mr. Rankin

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in his consideration of the Hunter Report, he will take into account the work which river purification boards are carrying out on fishing matters including their participation in stocking and fishing management programmes being undertaken by the United Clyde Angling Association.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

My right hon. Friend will naturally take all relevant considerations into account. River purification boards are not in the main directly concerned with fishery management. The Hunter Report did not suggest any change in this respect.

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he intends to introduce legislation, consequent to the Hunter Report on Fishing.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I shall put forward proposals as soon as I am in position to do so.
