HC Deb 27 January 1970 vol 794 c300W
69. Mr. Ellis

asked the Minister of Transport how many complaints he has received over the last year from people who were refused a refund of the driving test fee.

Mr. Murray

I regret that the information which my hon. Friend requires is not readily available and could not be obtained without disproportionate cost and effort.

70. Mr. Ellis

asked the Minister of Transport if he will review the policy of refusing any refunds for driving test fees where three clear days' notice have not been given in cases where it was impossible for the person so involved to give such notice.

Mr. Murray

We have recently completed such a review and have concluded, reluctantly, that we cannot recommend any change in the present law, which is designed to keep down costs in the interests of all candidates.
