§ 60. Sir Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Transport whether he will alter the arrangements in regard to emergency expenditure on winter maintenance of roads so as to ensure that local authorities have adequate finance available for this purpose to prevent adverse effects on traffic movement and road safety.
§ Mr. MurrayWe are not proposing to alter the present arrangement. The allocation of funds for winter maintenance is a matter for the highway authority.
As far as trunk roads are concerned we are satisfied that adequate finance is available to prevent undue adverse effects on traffic movement and safety.
