HC Deb 20 January 1970 vol 794 cc96-7W
61. Sir Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Transport what action is being taken to publicise the Road Research Laboratory's report concerning the corrosion that salt on icy roads can cause to vehicles and to advise motorists about action to prevent or reduce the extent of such corrosion.

Mr. Murray

The report was widely distributed and publicised through the press, radio and television. Most modern cars receive some form of anti-corrosion treatment during manufacture. The best preventative treatment is cleaning the vehicle after travelling on salted roads and careful maintenance.
