asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of growing transport difficulties with traffic entering and leaving Hull on the west side of the city; and what stage he has reached in his proposals for extending Hessle Road and the Docks Road eastwards over the Hull River.

All of the proposals to which my hon. Friend refers are the city of Hull's responsibility as the highway authority. The extension of Hessle Road to Myton Place should be completed in November. A new road from Myton Place to Market Place is expected to start in 1971–72 and a new road from Market Place to Hedon Road, including a bridge over the River Hull, is in preparation for later in the 1970s.
