asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what was the total figure of those in employment in Scotland at the latest date for which figures are available; and how this compares with October 1964.

Employment estimates for Scotland for 1964 are available only for June. The estimated number of employees in employment in Scotland at June, 1964 was 2,121,000. The provisional estimate for March, 1969 was 2,086,000.
