HC Deb 18 December 1970 vol 808 c502W
Mr. James Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is aware of the hardship caused to those men on compulsory retirement at 60 years of age still having to pay National Insurance stamps and yet being debarred from exemption from prescription charges; and if he will exempt them from payment of prescription charges.

Mr. Alison

I do not think that any change is needed in the existing arrangements, which are specifically designed to help those who would suffer hardship through having to pay the charges.
