From November, 1969, to October, 1970 (the latest month for which a Retail Prices Index figure is available), prices increased by 6.9 per cent., and in November, 1970, supplementary benefit scale rates increased by 8.3 per cent. over the previous rates. The table below sets out the dates since October, 1964, when supplementary benefit rates have been increased and shows the percentage increase in each case as compared with October, 1964.
