39. Mr. Allason

asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will review the rule under which re-employed civil servants may not exceed in salary and pension a total greater than their salary immediately prior to their initial retirement, in view of the increase in the cost of living since the initial retirement.

Mr. Shore:

This, together with other possible changes in Civil Service super-annuation, will be a matter to be considered by the Joint Review Committee, on which both staff and management are represented.
