asked the Secretary of State for Wales what consideration has been given by his Department to seeking powers to enable the Welsh Tourist Board to establish its own tourist hotels in Wales and thereafter to let them out to commercial undertakings, following the pattern set for encouraging other industries in Wales.

Mr. George Thomas:

Whilst I should be ready to consider any well-conceived proposal put forward by the Wales Tourist Board, it would seem better at present to concentrate on the measures provided for under existing powers.
